Title: Can you hear my heart beating?
Rating: G
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Characters/Pairings: Cloud/Tifa
Summary: Moments that changed their lives forever
A/N: HAHA, I write fic! And for the first time in my many years of being absolutely in love with it, I'm posting something for Final Fantasy VII. First completed fic for it (but not my first attempt.) May or may not be a short series, we'll see how it goes. Title comes from the song Gravity by Coldplay.

Pfft, like anyone's gonna take my advice

[atla] really i'm just rambling
What? Christmas? Oh yeah, that; 'twas fun. Got some cool stuff: A new notebook; a very nice copy of A Christmas Carol and the DVD of Scrooge (which is only the best adaptation of the story ever; my family and I watch it every year, and my parents figured- well, we all like it so much, it was about time the kids each got a copy of their own, with Charles Dickens' book, of course,) an iPod speakers thing, which is like this thing you hook up to your iPod or iPhone and play the music on there, also includes clock with alarms and radio (very cool, and very handy- my last alarm clock was too bright, and green. Creepy much?); Madagascar (shut up, I like that movie); iTunes card (of course; I'm madly in love with the songs I bought with it); and the fourth installment of the Uglies series, Extras (finally, I've got the whole set! Anyone who hasn't read that series yet, for goodness' sake, go, go, go!!)
Oh yeah, and the first album of some guy named Kris Allen, or something. Whatever. (omg yay <333)

Of course, I've been preoccupied with video games. (Personal life? What personal life?) )

Also, in the world of films, I have seen two highly anticipated movies in the past two days: yesterday, along with my cousin and sister, The Princess and the Frog; today, with my immediately family and same cousin, Avatar. Er, James Cameron's. At least one kinda big spoiler ahead; proceed with caution.

The Princess and the Frog )

Anyway, those are my useless thoughts; apply at your own discretion.

(And since I have a feeling that this will be my last entry for 2009) Happy New Year, everybody! Here's hoping 2010 is a good year, yeah?
[ai] squeeeeeeee
Oh.

Holy.

Crap.

I don't think I've ever brought this up before...possibly because of shame, or never having been quite so crazy over a singer/band (let alone a former Idol contestant,) or a lack of wanting to be teased...but I happen to be a big fan of Kris Allen. Like, a big, big fan. It's kind of ridiculous and pathetic how much I love him, really (considering he's a COMPLETE STRANGER and all,) but it's true, and I am, and I really don't care about feeling ~shame or any such nonsense about stanning this freakin' amazing human being, kthnks.

Because today happened. Where Kristopher performed at a tailgate party for the Miami Dolphins football game. And I'm kinda stuck in this silent flail mode and I NEED TO GET IT OUT BEFORE I EXPLODE, 'KAY.

(You might want to turn down your speakers or something. Just  a head's up.)

Live Like We're Dying
Even better live, oh goodness.

Can't Stay Away
THIS JUST MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE OMG.

Written All Over My Face
(...when's his album coming out again? November 17th? And that doesn't really matter for me anyway because the soonest I'll be able to call that thing my own is Christmas, since I have no money to buy it myself? Drat.)

Before We Come Undone
(Seriously. Album. Now.)

Baby One More Time
HOW SO AWESOME, KRISTOPHER. I MEAN REALLY. HOW. TELL MEEEEEEEE.

So yeah. I'm a Kris Allen fan. Shut up; he's awesome.

Title: Book Two Oneshot
Rating: G
Summary: Wan Shi-Tong still can't quite place why he let the four of them in...
A/N: What? You mean I'm still writing for for that Avatar Month thing swan2swan had forever and a half ago? Whaaaat? (...I haven't written much lately, okay, and it's still good for inspiration.) I understand that I still need to write three prompts before writing this one, but I guess that's why I'm posting this here, instead of at deviantART- that, and I just don't wanna post it there.
Anyway. This actually wasn't initially written for Avatar Month, but then I thought- why not? I didn't have anything for this particular prompt yet and it fit quite nicely, and I wasn't comfortable with just posting it on its own. So I decided to add it to my AM drabbles and be done with it. Enjoy.

He really should've known better; after all he's the Knowledge Spirit, knowing is all he is. )

glimpse in the life- also fic recs

Tomorrow, I have an "interview" for a job at the library. It's volunteer, so I won't be getting paid; still, I'm a touch nervous about this...
ETA:  Um...I guess I don't really understand the whole volunteer- thing. I thought I was, like, going in for an interview sort of thing, like I'd just have a job I wouldn't be getting paid for, but apparently that's not the case? Like, I have to set up the next time I go in? If so, I really could have used that information before going in today, 'cause I really, really don't like making those kinds of phone calls, most especially when I have no idea if my services have been severed after this or not. (Really, I just want to drop it now and start looking around for something else to do, but I get the feeling no one in my family's going to let me do that...)
On the job itself, it was okay. I sat in the back of the children's section and made noisemakers. Monotonous work, some of those kids have really obnoxious screams, and more than once I wished I'd brought my iPod, but other than that, it was fine, I guess.

In other news, last Wednesday my dad watched Prince Caspian. The problem is, this awoke my inner, raving Edmund fangirl from her dormant slumber a good year too early and there's not much to appease her. I managed to subdue her a little, though, by uploading my new default icon (I still haven't gotten a keyword phrase for it that I really like...) and I've been going through some fic. And, well, what kind of fanfic enthusiast would I be if I didn't share?

Bliss by Capegio
Disquietude by ciardhaurelius
basically anything by lurkisblurkis, although my personal favorite is Doing More
and I'm currently reading A Sea Of Golden Sand by Andi Horton

And speaking of fic...I've started trying my hand at RPF, although nothing's been completed yet. ...I'm scared.
[atla] really i'm just rambling
So, I've been rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender. (First, two discs per season with my cousin, who'd never seen it before and finished the whole thing last week, and more recently, the whole thing with my dad, who had seen a few episodes here and there.) I just finished watching the second season tonight, and noticed a pattern. Please bear with me if you've heard it before.

First Season: Princess Yue has fallen in Love At First Sight with Sokka, but has a duty to her people to marry Hahn. At the end of the season finale, Yue does her duty and gives back her life force to La, essentially "dies" and becomes the Moon Spirit.
Second Season: Aang loves Katara, but has a duty to the world to master the Avatar State, which Guru Patihk says entails letting go of said love for Katara. At the end of the season, Aang does his duty and gives up Katara, gets killed by Azula, and is brought back to life by Katara.
Third season: Katara loves Aang, but is confused about whether or not it would be prudent to pursue a relationship with him in the midst of a century-long war. At the end of the season, Katara "turns down" Aang and nearly gets hit by a bolt of lightning from Azula. Zuko, who took the lightning bolt, had earlier that season left Mai behind in order to pursue and fulfill his destiny by teaching Aang firebending, and was saved by Katara.

I mean, really? Twice is a bit of a coincidence, but four instances in three separate occasions? Really, Mr. DiMartino? Really, Mr. Konietzko?

Whatever.

So. Coraline has a pretty freakin' sweet soundtrack. Really, it's amazing; I'm madly in love with it, and it deserves any and all awards it might should be nominated for. That said:

Should you ever feel the need to creep yourself out for no good reason, listen to Track #29 You Know I Love You. Alone. At night. Or really, at any time with insufficient lighting. Seriously: Ridiculously creepy stuff right there.

And- end useless journal entry.!

Reign of Darkness: unposted scene

[xs] a flare for drama
Some of you who read this may remember my Xiaolin Showdown post-apocalyptic New Generation fic, Reign of Darkness. As those of you who read it know, I wasn't very far (read: four chapters in) when I decided to stop writing it and turn my attention back to my other XS fic, Prophecy, and by that point we'd only met a few characters. However, I did have some scene written up, and seeing as I really, really like this one, I felt like posting it; y'know, just for fun.

(Also, for past readers: If you're wondering about Aithne's disappearance, she's simply had a name change to Jenna.)

Setup: After managing to escape from a dungeon, four youths (and shapeshifting dragon) run for it, as large dragons are very noticeable to the ones they're running from. However, their path has been blocked by a fast-running river, leaving them to wonder what they're going to do now...

WHY DOES MY PUPPY HAVE CANCER? WHYYYYYYYYY?

Okay, okay, so they said- they said stuff that I can't really articulate right now but whatever it was it meant that it was benign and not causing any problems and that we'd just have to keep an eye out to make sure it doesn't come back but...but...

BUT STILL.

MY PUPPY.

Reaction to Life 2x21 "One"

[ai] squeeeeeeee
(Late reaction is late because I was unable to watch this episode when it aired and only just watched it yesterday. Moving on...)

(WARNING: Uncontrollable squees, flails, capslock and ridiculousness ahead. Beware.)

OK. UM.

SO, LIKE, REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN MY USUALLY AMAZING SHOW "LIFE" DECIDED TO BE EVEN MORE AMAZING THAN USUAL? LIKE, AMAZING, AMAZING? WITH A SIDE-DISH OF AMAZINGNESS?

(One plus one equals one) )

If that is the series finale, then I guess it was a pretty good way to end... BUT I DON'T WANT IT TO END SO GIVE ME ANOTHER SEASON PLEASE BECAUSE THIS SHOW IS WIN AND AWESOMESAUCE.

Commentary on a Big Decision

Okay, so: I was just recently looking over some (relatively old) essays focusing on A:tLA and came upon a pre-finale discussion theorizing over whether or not Aang would kill Ozai or not. In light of the way my brain works, this jumped over to post-finale comments on how everybody, EVERYBODY, had told Aang that he would have to kill the Firelord, but he stuck to his guns and spared Ozai's life anyway, and I started thinking about that.

Thus, this list/essay was spawned.

This is rated PG-13, so look away, kiddies.

Yup. Originally, I intended there to be a poem weaving through the story, but that was dropped. But you can view it here:

Yeah; don't ask me why this came to be, or how. Only know that it took me about an hour, explores the post-war Kataang (but thar be no spoilers here, arr,) and that it's my first posted fic outside of Kataang Week. So...enjoy!

And please, tell me what you liked and/or where I could maybe improve. ('Cause I'm still such a n00b at Avatar-fic, and I'd really appreciate any help with making my Avatar more Avatar-ish and just becoming a better writer.)

IT'S A FIC! (Oh noes!) )
[ai] finding center spotlight
Okies... I really should introduce myself better.

I'm blueeyesforlife (as you can see,) also known as softmoonlight over at deviantart, and blue-eyes2014 basically everywhere else. I'm 18, love to write, and still like cartoons. I signed up to this site basically because I loved the look of it, and felt that it would help me with my writing, (mostly my fanfiction.) I've been writing for a while, but I'm still a little shy about it all; this would give me a nice change of "scenery", and a chance to put out small snippets or things I'm not certain about putting up elsewhere.

The kind of stuff you can expect from me:

* Original writings, both prose and poetry

* Avatar the Last Airbender fanfiction. I guess you could call me a n00b when it comes to Avatar. I only really got interested in the show after the second season, (when I first heard about Avatar, my favorite show at the time was Xiaolin Showdown, and I thought Avatar was a total ripoff, but realized the two shows were extremely different and non-comparable,) only catching up mid-season 3.

* Some random ramblings about nothing in particular (OR SO YOU THINK.) No, really.

Aaannnnnd...I guess that's it? Yeah...
